Larry Busby writes to let us know: “I ran across this artist on Ebay. Dan Lacy has done many interesting pieces of Barack Obama. I personally own two of the 8×10 Unicorn Paintings. I also own several of his more serious gold 5×7’s of Obama.” Actually Larry, we have featured several of Lacy’s works (here, here, here and here) – but he is always worth another mention.
So, not only did I miss out on the Ugly Betty painting, but I also just learned about these two great paintings that were up for auction recently: “I call these ‘gold Obamas’ – Painted on a base of gold metallic acrylic, which gives the portrait a golden glow.” Individual images below.
As promised, here is another from Dan Lacey: “A painting of Barack Obama and his unicorn Penelope offering Ugly Betty positive affirmations. This painting is 8 by 10 inches on sheet canvas.” Sold on ebay for only $25. *slaps forehead* How did I not bid!

I was just looking back and realized that we never posted the final version of this Dan Lacey painting! Here goes: “A painting of Barack Obama and his unicorn Penelope relaxing at the far western White House, Camp Lei.”
